MK’s and PK’s have seen it all and have experienced many awesome and sometimes terrible things. They are a unique group of people...involved in ministry because of their parents’ calling rather than their own.

But we believe God has called them as well. He has placed them in a unique position to affect the world for Christ. He has entrusted them with His reputation, and because of their experiences He can often use them more readily than those who are completely inexperienced.

In our teaching we have seen many MK’s and PK’s who struggle with their role. Some resent being watched, others enjoy being the center of attention, but all have to grow up with an audience.

Others deal with additional issues such as ADHD/ADD/ OCD/Asperger’s and similar disorders. It’s amazing how many Mk’s and Pk’s have to deal with these disorders. We have three in our own family, plus a couple nephews who are PK’s dealing with these as well. We know of others who deal with even more serious issues, and our hearts ache for the struggles they go through.

We have a strong burden to pray for and minister to MK’s and PK’s. As missionaries, ministers, and teachers, we’ve seen what our own kids have gone through and what many other kids have gone through with their parents being in ministry. In addition, we’ve seen what the enemy has tried to do to minister’s kids. We take prayer very seriously, and we take the threat against these children very seriously.

We would like to challenge others to join in praying with us for these children. We would also like to extend an invitation to ministers or MK’s and PK’s to write to us with your prayer requests. We will post a prayer list online, but we won’t post names, so feel free to email us at
Let’s join together to pray for the wonderful, unique, and gifted kids the Lord has given us. Let’s pray for their protection and strength, for them to embrace the opportunities they have to share their faith. For those who don’t yet know the Lord, we need to pray for their salvation...for those who know the Lord, we need to pray for their growth and understanding in the Lord. Their faith must become their own just as their calling must become their own. And we need to pray that we will hear their concerns and complaints with ears of understanding and hearts filled with concern and love.

2 Chron. 20:13 (NIV)
All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the Lord.

1 Tim. 4:12 (NIV)
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

Ephes. 6:4 (NIV)
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Luke 18:16 (NIV)
But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
